The Save the Snowflakes Educational Program and Contest was created because at Snow Beverages we believe that the planet can be saved through the collective power of many individuals and the small but important contributions that we all make, young and old alike. Through our Save the Snowflakes program, we aim to:

• Educate elementary school-aged children about the challenges of climate change and empower them with the knowledge to become a “Protector Of the Planet”.
• Foster and reinforce progressive attitudes and behaviors towards recycling, reducing waste and conserving our natural resources at a young age while personalities and habits are being formed.
• Help children to embrace their individuality. “Every snowflake is a one-of-a-kind and so is every child.”
• Teach children the meaning of the environmental axiom, “Think globally, act locally” and, like Gandhi said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

After reading the Save the Snowflakes educational handbook, we invited children to a draw a snowflake and to explain, as an individual, how he/she could take their new knowledge and become a “Protector Of the Planet.”
